Montgomery Boycott

On 5 December, 1955 over ninety five percent of African Americans refused to ride the buses in Montgomery in protest against the segregation policy on buses which forced them to sit at the back of the bus. Many walked to work and many, including Rosa Parks, were fired from their jobs in retaliation for the boycott.
