Police assault on Anthony James

Ligali has received a letter of appeal asking for community support to defend the respected community worker Bro Anthony James from a barrage of state attacks.

On Thursday 07 October 2010 an African man by the name of Anthony James was evicted by 15 riot police officers (CAD -2020-07/10/10) from his home in Burlington Place, Fulham, London, SW6 4NJ.

The officers who were all european and included FH 363 (male), FH 52 (male), FH 654 (male) and Inspector Dave Jones attended with riot shields, axe and a battering ram and proceeded to smash down his door, arrested, torture and forcible evicted, Bro Anthony from the flat where he had lived since 1981 as a secure tenant.

All of his possessions which he had accumulated over 29 years were stolen which included his passport, medicine, medical documents, personal correspondence, money, books some of which were antiques over 100 years old. They also appropriated over 55 files of legal documents needed for his court case against the UK government.

Bro Anthony has revealed that he was initially denied state benefit (Dole/JSA) and forced to beg for food in order to survive since November 2006 simply because he complained of racism within the state system whilst invoking his right to freedom of speech and thought.

He explains to us that as punishment, Hammersmith and Fulham Council H&F engineered a motive to evict him for rent arrears by sending him a letter dated 04 September 2008, claiming he was dead.

Exposing Injustice: Bro Anthony James is known for campaigning against racism, corruption and police assaults on Africans (Incident date: 14.07.2011)

Another assault

When Bro Anthony, who is now unemployed, attended the Royal Courts Of Justice at the Strand he faced another assault that left him with traumatic brain injury. He identifies the eight to ten officers involved in the assault by their badge numbers - 2447 CW, 101 CW, 2697 CW, 2553 and CW 2697 (Church).

Bro Anthony calls for justice and asks the public to write to the government, the United Nations and any moral body with legal authority and ask them to investigate these matters.

A letter of protest sent to Ligali in support of Bro Anthony states; “The law must protect everyone. Black/Afrikan People must also be given the protection of the law in the UK Great Britain and Northern Ireland. It seems obvious that the British government has declared war on this individual for having complained about racism and corruption in the British system.

He has effectively been made a prisoner of conscience a political prisoner tortured through a process of state attacks, and denied the protection of the law.

Bro Anthony who is now homeless can be contacted on Tel: 07504308865
