After the Wilberfarce of 27 March 2007, on 12 October 2016, the British royals, government and church once again held a celebratory ritual elevating Wilberforce in the name of ‘anti-slavery’. This time in an event shrouded in secrecy the public were excluded and only those deemed politically neutered were invited.
On 27 March 2017, 12 noon we did the same but honouring our Ancestors, both those that were lost to Maafa (slavery, colonialism and imperialism) and those that engaged in the freedom fighting that resulted us in being here today. It was a ritual of healing where anyone was invited to participate as long as they attended with the spirit of peace, love and justice.
