On 11 January 1999, 30 year old Roger
Sylvester was violently and excessively
restrained outside his home by eight police
officers from Tottenham Police Station.
He sustained numerous injuries and later
collapsed and fell into in a coma. Seven
days later, Roger died. The officers involved
were initially suspended but a verdict
of unlawful killing was quashed in 2004
and they have subsequently been reinstated.
