During a protest against segregation in Nashville, 27 April 1964, police officers were frequently guilty of using brutality to take innocent African Americans into custody. In this image the innocent young man was beaten, subdued and forced into a police wagon when he refused to comply after officers grabbed him and ordered him into custody for no reason.         Nashville Protest
